Plan your visit

An article published on 8 October 2026 says the Bilbao Night Running Fest is scheduled for 17 October 2026, starting at the San Mamés esplanade and finishing in front of the Guggenheim, with music, performances and spectators along the route. The article describes the 2026 edition as the event’s 18th, with two distances: a 21.097-kilometre half marathon and a 10-kilometre race. For the half marathon, the article recommends preparing in advance and describes eight to twelve weeks as a possible guide for runners with some existing base, while noting that the time needed depends on starting point and goal.^[1]

Do

If you plan to run the half marathon, build endurance progressively; the article suggests combining easy runs, faster sessions, strength work and a weekly long run.^[1]

Don’t

Don’t let the music and crowd push you into starting too fast; the article warns that this can catch up with runners over the remaining kilometres.^[1]
